In this post I am sharing what gifts we gave our daughter who turned 3 years old to help give you some gift ideas for 3 year old girls or boys.

Getting gifts for my kids is one of my favorite things to shop for. I love thinking about the things they love and coming up with gift ideas I know (or at least hope) they will use and love. I really put in the effort to come up with gifts that will be used for years to come and not just end up in the trash or donation pile 3 months down the road.
When I pick out gifts for my kids, I look for toys that are open ended, things they can play with together, things that will grow with them, and toys that can be passed down to future kids. Not everything always falls into those categories and I have definitely bought things on a whim that I know might only be loved in the moment. But for the most part, I feel like I’m pretty good at giving thoughtful gifts to my kids.
This year I tried to find things used since there are so many amazing second hand toys out there that are barely used just waiting to be found, but I waited a little too long and only found one used gift. It’s a goal of mine to be better at that in future years!
So here is what we gave our daughter for her 3rd birthday to give you some gift ideas for 3 year old girls or boys!

What we got Our Daughter for Her 3rd BIrthday
Here is what we got for our daughter who turned 3 this year! Hopefully it gives you some gift ideas for 3 year old girls or boys!
Little People Dollhouse

Little People Dollhouse: I actually found this at a thrift store for $5 and it has already been a huge hit! My older sister had this for her kids and they played with it for years. I love that the doll house opens up but then can be closed and easily carried around or stored. We don’t have any Little People to go with it but she just uses the dolls she already has.
Play Silks

Play Silks: I have been wanting to get my kids play silks for a while and this was the perfect opportunity. They have already used them in so many different ways: Capes, making forts, using the different colors as scenes in a play set (green for grass, blue for water..), a princess veil, you name it. I love getting my kids open ended toys and seeing their creativity.
Wooden Clamps

Wooden Clamps for Forts and Play Silks: These were with the play silks and are perfect for making forts. We also have used them to set up a puppet show for the kids.
Princess Doorables

Disney Doorable Princess Collection: Disney Doorables are little toy dolls you collect. You don’t usually know which one’s you are going to get unless you buy certain sets. My kids love these and they are fun little surprises for them to get when we’re on long road trips, or Logan is out of town and I need to change things up. This Disney set was super fun because she loves Disney princesses right now.
Frozen Anna Dress

Anna Dress from Frozen: What 3 year old is not obsessed with Frozen? She already has an Elsa dress so I got her this Anna dress and she has worn it every day since she opened it. It also comes with accessories but I only gave her the gloves and tiara because I knew the other pieces would just end up shoved in the back of the toy cabinet.
Candyland Game

Candyland: My friends got this game for her and she has had so much fun playing it. It’s especially great because her and her 5 year old brother can play it by themselves which I, of course, am super grateful for.
Yoto Cards

I almost always give a Yoto card or two as gifts to my kids on special occasions. I like to buy them when they are on sale and have a little stock pile. Yoto cards are one of the best and easiest gift ideas for 4 year old girls or any kid that loves listening to books!
If you want to learn more about the Yoto Player, you can read my full review: YOTO PLAYER AND YOTO MINI REVIEW–EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. And if you decide to try out the Yoto player, you can use my Yoto discount code which is HaileyOutside10 for 10% off.
If you want more Yoto card recommendations, I have a post sharing the Best Yoto Cards for Toddlers and Best Yoto Cards for Preschoolers. They are all tried and true favorites that get played over and over by my kids.
This is the Yoto Card I got for my Daughter’s birthday this year:

Clifford the Big Red Dog: I loved watching Clifford as a kid and reading the books so I figured my daughter would like it too! The kids are always excited to get new Yoto cards and this one has been a fun listen.
