Easter is just around the corner, and if you’re looking for Easter basket ideas that encourage active and outdoor kids- I have you covered!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Easter finds—including deals from the Big Spring Sale—that are not only fun but also practical. A mix of gifts I know my kids will love as well as some items they need for the coming summer. Instead of one-time-use items or tons of candy, I’ve tried to pick gifts that encourage kids to get outside, explore, and will be used more than once. Whether you’re looking for easter basket ideas for kids, or fun spring time activities, you’re in the right place.
Anything that has a **double asterisk means it’s on sale right now during Amazon’s Big Spring Sale which last through March 31, 2025 But remember, the best gifts are often homemade or thrifted, so mix in a few secondhand treasures or DIY surprises to make Easter baskets even more meaningful.

Easter Basket Ideas for active kids:

**Speedo Kids Swim Goggle: These goggles are great for both comfort and functionality. They are especially great for my daughter who can wear her ponytail in-between the straps. They are adjustable and secure, and my kids love the anti-fog lens that actually works.

**Watercolor Paint Set 48 Colors: This set has everything you need, great colors, and a really cute durable case that snaps everything in for easy cleanup and storage. We have packed it and some paper on hikes, camping trips, or it’s also just great for an afternoon in the backyard.

Spring Themed Books: I love an excuse to add books to the kids’ home library. Here are a handful of spring themed books that would be great addition to any easter basket. The Little Gardner, The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s First Spring, Little Blue Truck’s Springtime or my favorite is the Exploring Nature Activity Book For Kids. It has awesome age appropriate activities that are simple and engaging. It has ideas for nature projects, crafts, and fun facts and information for day to day walks.

**Hiking Sandals: My go-to summer sandals for my kids. Easy on and off, and the closed toe is comfortable and sturdy for growing feet. These sandals come in lots of great colors and are perfect for hiking, rivers, splash pads, and everyday wear.

**Butterfly Nets: These cute bug catching nets come in a set of five cute colors. They are extendable and have a great grippy handle for little hands. What says spring time better than catching bugs and butterflies?

**Yoto Cards: If you’re new around here, you might not know about my obsession with our Yoto Player. You can WATCH MY WHOLE REVIEW about the kid’s audio player here. But if you do have one, Yoto cards are always fun toddler Easter basket ideas and the Yoto can be played all over, even outside while your little one is busy doing something while they listen. You can check out Our Favorite Yoto Cards here.
Some fun Yoto Card ideas for your kids’ Easter Basket:

Bubble Wands and **32 oz Bubble Solution Refills: This bubble solution concentrate mixes with water so you can somewhat control the density of the bubbles which is super fun! These wands create such fun shapes, especially the giant circle wand.

Stomp Rocket Jr. Really simple set up, and I love that this gift makes kids move! Fun for all ages, and my kids love jumping on it to launch the rocket, and trying to catch it. It can go decently high, so I would make sure to use it in a space where it won’t land on a roof or get stuck in a tree. When we camp with friends, someone alwasy brings one and the kids get so much entertainment out of this.

**Reusable Water Balloons: These are a spring/summer must have! I love how I don’t get stuck filling up water balloons, plus these are way easier to clean up and more eco-friendly. These are also fun at bath time or at a pool. I would recommend getting the 24 pack if you have a few kids.

Butterly Garden Kit 🦋:The gift that last a few weeks while kids get to watch the caterpillars build their cocoons and turn into a butterfly! The Insect Lore Butterfly Garden is a first hand way for kids to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. The kit comes with everything you need, including a habitat, food, and caterpillars. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, and kids will love checking on their progress as they change.

Mini Gliders: These foam airplanes are hit at my house. My son loves to play with these with the neighbor kids. They’re lightweight so even if they fly into a human or something indoors, it doesn’t cause any damage. They really are great for all ages, and my kids have fun figuring out how to make them glide the longest. They are ready to go right out of the box!

Sand and Water Toys: Fine motor skills meets play 🤝. These have been fun for bath time, pool, mud, sand, and indoor play with dried rice or beans. They are also very easy to clean and have kept my toddler entertained for long stretches!

Color Matching Egg Set: These are fun and Easter themed, but can be used for kitchen play time in the future. This cute half-dozen eggs crack apart and then connect back together with the corresponding color and shape.

Annie’s Snack Pack: I love Annie’s snacks and these little bunny pouches are a great alternative for candy in Easter Basket for kids.

6 Pack Wooden Shaker Eggs: These eggs are like inexpensive little maracas, great for little hands. They are wooden and durable and are small enough to take on the go. These would be a fun in an easter basket and are great for any occasion!

Schleich Farm Animals: I love this little set, and there is a coupon you can apply to save a few dollars. Great quality, and impressive attention to detail. My kids love to play imaginary games with these, and it’s nice that they stand up on their own. These are a great size for play and to take on the road.

Pocket Microscope: When I first saw the microscope out of the box, to be honest I didn’t expect much. But I also got the sample slides and was actually really impressed by how clear and cool the images are. My son loves to collect everyday objects and examine them. You can also buy the phone clip, which uses your phone to magnify the image for even easier viewing which is nice when multiple kids want to see something at the same time. Something fun to bring along on your hikes or nature walks!

Sidewalk Chalk Holders: Drawing with chalk is so much easier with these, plus I feel like it decreases the chance of the chalk breaking into pieces when it’s dropped. I also appreciate that it decreases the chalky powder on hands and clothes. These have been great for both sidewalk drawing sessions and indoor blackboard drawing.

Bug Bungalow 🐞: This little bug catching set up has actually been super durable. It’s easy for little hands-I’d say great for ages 3 and up. It comes with a tweezers for snatching bugs, a magnifying glass, and a jar that also has a magnifying lid. Neighborhood grasshoppers beware!

Kid’s Fanny Pack: This mini fanny pack is not only adorable, but also functional! My toddler can carry around his own toys and snacks and get them out whenever he wants.
