While spending the day out in Paris or the different cities in Belgium, I didn’t want to have to worry about going back to our AirBnB when we needed something so I just made sure our travel stroller had all the necessities for the day. We also carried a backpack or a satchel with us and we would be good for the day!
The travel stroller we used was the Thule Shine Stroller (Amazon link) with the attached Rider Board (Amazon link). It was the perfect stroller set up for 2 kids in Europe. If you don’t know, European cities are not always the most stroller friendly so I didn’t want to bring a double stroller, but I did still want something both my kids could ride in. I will do a whole post on our stroller and why we loved it which you’ll be able to find here.
For now, here’s everything we kept in our stroller for a day out in Europe:

WHat I Keep in My Travel Stroller
- Soft Structured Carrier: In case one of my kid’s doesn’t want to ride in the stroller but also doesn’t want to walk, I love having my Ergobaby Omni Breeze to wear them so they are close to me and we can still walk at a good pace. I also love that I can nurse my baby in it on the go.
- Kid’s Play Suits: We were in Europe during shoulder season and we got rained on. I love our kid’s waterproof play suits that were lightly insulated so they stayed warm and dry the whole day. For my 22 month old daughter, we did a waterproof bunting. But for my almost 4 year old we did a waterproof jacket and pants so it was easier for him to go to the bathroom. (My code is Hailey20)
- Umbrella: Some days were downpours and it was nice to have an umbrella especially when we were just standing in lines or strolling out on the streets.
- Walker Family Goods Valley Backpack: I liked having a backpack to keep all of our small items contained and organized. The WFG Valley Pack has been our go to travel backpack for a couple years now. It’s durable, looks nice, and the organization is amazing. (My code is Hailey15)
- Mini Magnets: These were hands down the biggest hit on this trip. We’ve had these for over a year but I feel like this was the most fun my kids have had with them. My toddler really loves building things with these magnetic blocks and he would just sit on the rider board of our stroller and play with them. They were also great on the train, in church, and on the airplane. These magnets are my favorite and have the strongest connection but this set of magnets is still great and is a better deal. And here is the case I use to keep them in!
- Books: My kids love looking at the pictures in books when they’re in the stroller so we always bring a couple when we’re out and about. I love books that have multiple stories in them so there are more options.
- Snacks: Of course you can’t go anywhere with kids and not bring snacks. We packed snacks from home like fruit leather, fruit/veggie pouches, granola bars, things like that and it was really nice to have.
- Yoto Player: We didn’t bring the kids’ Yoto Minis out every day, but on days we were going places where we didn’t want the kids running around as much (like the Louvre) or when we did a long bike tour, the Yoto Player was great to keep them entertained. Full review of the Yoto here! (My code is Hailey15)
- Water Bottles: Water (especially free water) can be hard to come across in European cities so we always made sure to have a water bottle or two in the stroller.
- Diapers and Wipes: We were there with our 22 month old so of course diapers and wipes are a must.
- Vlog Camera: I vlogged most of our trip for my Youtube channel so I kept my vlog camera in my Walker Goods Louie sling the whole time. If you want to see those videos, make sure to check out my Youtube Channel!
If you want to see a video tour of everything I keep in my travel stroller, I did a video post on Instagram you can check out.
While navigating the cobblestone, stairs, and small cafes with a stroller isn’t the most ideal, it is nice to have a space for all of our essentials when we’re out and about.
