Here is a list of my pregnancy must haves that I have loved and used throughout all three of my pregnancies. From clothing, to skincare, to things that help me sleep better at night.
I am pregnant with my third baby so if there is one thing I’ve come to learn about pregnancy, it’s that investing in a few key items can make all the difference. While pregnancy may seem short in the grand scheme of things, it’s such an important time where our bodies go through countless changes.
I’ve put together a list of my tried and true pregnancy must haves that I hope you will find helpful if you are expecting. These are products that I’ve personally used and loved, not just in this pregnancy, but in all three. From comfortable clothing to nourishing skincare, and things that help me sleep better. For me, it’s been worth investing in items that grow with my body and provide the relief I need. They’ve helped me feel more at ease during a time when my body is working hard to grow a tiny human.

My Pregnancy Must Haves
Comfortable Clothing
When you grow a tiny human, your body goes through a lot of changes and does a lot of growing. Finding comfortable clothing during pregnancy is so important because your body is constantly changing, and tight or restrictive clothes just adds unnecessary discomfort (which you definitely don’t need). Maternity-friendly pieces allow you to move freely, help with circulation, and reduce physical strain. These were some of my clothing pregnancy must haves.
Jackets
Free People Movement Pippa Jacket: I wear this jacket a lot because I think it’s so cute. It’s warm and made with high quality materials. It is an oversized fit so I can size down in it but my tts fits good and fits me throughout my whole pregnancy! (I’m wearing it in the cover photo of this blog post).
Universal Jacket Extender: This is a universal jacket extender that fits on almost any jacket. I’ve worn it on my down coats, rain jacket, and hardshell. If you only need a little bit of room, you can just use the 2 added zippers or you can add in the larger insert. It’s water resistant on the outside and fleece on the inside. It only takes a couple minutes to put on and a few seconds to take off.
You can also use it for babywearing after your baby arrives!
Pants
AE Dreamy Drape Jeans – I wanted to get a pair of cute, non-maternity jeans that I could wear through most of my pregnancy. I ended up getting these 2 sizes up from my normal size and I LOVE them. They are so soft and honestly don’t feel like jeans. The wide leg jeans are really popular which is great because it’s so comfortable. I did eventually have to start using the hair tie trick with them, but they are still working and I’m 35 weeks pregnant. I will probably give them to a friend when I don’t need them anymore!
Amazon Maternity Jeans – I did finally pick up a pair of maternity jeans and I wish I did it sooner. It took me a while to find a style that I liked but these jeans are cute and comfortable. They have a big band to go over your belly and they are generous with the sizing. These are definitely a must.
Maternity Leggings – I have a few pairs of maternity leggings and these are my favorite. They are comfortable, have a high waist band so you don’t get any weird lines on your belly, and are slightly compressive without feeling too tight. I love wearing these day to day as well as to the gym.
Shorts
Maternity Running Shorts – I bought these early on in my pregnancy and I have worn them on a majority of my hikes since becoming pregnant. I love the length and they are super comfortable.
Maternity Biker Shorts – I love a good pair of biker shorts when I’m not pregnant, and I love them when I am paired with an oversized t-shirt. I love these particular shorts because they are not too compressive so I don’t feel like they are putting unnecessary pressure on my belly. They are lightweight and great for warmer weather.
Shoes
Hoka Bondi 8 – I like to do a lot of walking when I’m pregnant and these are my favorite walking shoes. They are very supportive and I have been able to walk miles in them with my feet feeling great by the end.
Compression Socks
Bombas Everyday Compression Socks – This was my first pregnancy wearing compression socks and I was surprised at how much I liked them. They didn’t feel restrictive or claustrophobic like I assumed they would. I wore them on my long flight to New York City to help with my blood flow.
Romper
Free People Romper Dupe: I absolutely love this romper when I’m pregnant and when I’m not. It’s meant to fit loose so there’s plenty of room for a growing belly. They also have a short version for the summer!
Swimsuit
Youswim Swimsuit – The Youswim one-piece swimsuit is hands down my favorite swimsuit when I’m pregnant. It’s not actually maternity but it’s amazing for pregnancy because it’s incredibly stretchy and adapts to your changing body throughout all stages. It’s designed to fit a range of sizes, so it comfortably accommodates a growing belly without feeling tight or restrictive. The material is soft and supportive and it’s one of those pieces that you can keep wearing postpartum as well. I love how flattering it feels, even as my body changes, and the durability means it holds up over time. It’s definitely worth the investment!

Prenatal Vitamins
Nature Made Prenatal Vitamins – A prenatal, whichever one you decide on, is absolutely a pregnancy must haves. These are the prenatals I have taken with all of my pregnancies. They are easy to find, don’t leave a bad taste in my mouth, and I’ve grown three healthy babies.
Mixhers Prenatal+ (Previously known as HerBaby) – This has been a new favorite way to get my prenatal in. The Pomegranate flavor is delicious and so fun to drink. I’m not great at making it everyday, but when I do, I don’t take my prenatal pill. Because it’s a drink, it’s more absorbable as well which I love. It’s also great for postnatal support.

Here are some of the ingredients that set MixHers Prenatal+ apart from other prenatal vitamins:
- Folate (not synthetic Folic Acid): Folate is a naturally occurring form of vitamin B9, which is easier for the body to absorb and utilize compared to synthetic folic acid. Folate is crucial for healthy cell growth, especially in early pregnancy, supporting the baby’s neural tube development.
- Choline: Choline is an essential nutrient for brain and spinal cord development in the baby. It’s often overlooked in standard prenatal vitamins, but Mixhers includes it to support cognitive development and prevent neural tube defects.
- Chelated Iron: The iron in Mixhers Prenatal+ is chelated, meaning it’s bound to amino acids to enhance absorption. This form of iron is gentle on the stomach, reducing the risk of constipation or nausea, which can be common with other forms of iron supplements.
- Magnesium: Magnesium supports muscle function and helps prevent cramps, which can be common during pregnancy. It also promotes relaxation and better sleep, which is especially important for expectant mothers. It can also be helpful in reducing morning sickness symptoms.
- Methylated B Vitamins: Methylated forms of B vitamins, such as B6 and B12, are more bioavailable, meaning your body can easily absorb and use them. These vitamins are crucial for energy production and reducing fatigue, which many pregnant women experience.
- Trace Minerals: Mixhers Prenatal+ includes essential trace minerals like zinc, selenium, and iodine, which are vital for the baby’s development, thyroid function, and immune support.
Belly SkinCare
Belly Oil
Badger Pregnant Belly Oil – I have used this oil for my entire third pregnancy and it’s amazing. I have not dealt with an itchy belly and it feels so good to rub on at night. It’s made with natural ingredients, which is important to me, and it absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. Plus, it has a light, calming scent that’s not overwhelming, which is great since I’m usually more sensitive to strong smells in my pregnancies
Bio Oil – This is what I used for my first two pregnancies. It always felt so good and kept my stretching skin hydrated.
Belly Balm
Badger Pregnant Belly Butter – This is my first pregnancy using a belly butter and I’m obsessed. I put it on top of the Badger belly oil a few nights a week and it feels so luxurious. I also love to travel with this since it won’t leak and can go through tsa.
Sleep
Bed Pillows – Obviously this is not pregnancy specific, but these pillows have made my pregnancy so much better. I don’t always get the best sleep when I’m pregnant and decided to try new pillows. These are squishy but don’t just completely flatten out when you lay on them. I could not be happier with this purchase.
Pregnancy Pillow – A pregnancy pillow is great because it provides the support for your growing belly and helps you sleep more comfortably at night. It relieves pressure on the hips and back, and it helps you stay in a side-sleeping position, which is more comfortable during pregnancy.
Belly Support
Belly Band
Belly Band – When I get later into my third trimester, a belly band is so nice to support your belly and give your lower back some relief. I have used this band for multiple pregnancies and it’s great when I’m going to be doing a lot of walking or standing.
Belly Tape
Pregnancy Kinesiology Belly Tape – I discovered the belly tape in my last pregnancy and it was a game changer. I like to put one piece of tape across my lower belly and then 2 or 3 pieces up vertically. You can leave it on for days at a time and it’s similar to a belly band but without the bulk. It doesn’t give quite the same relief as a full waist band, but I definitely noticed a difference in my lower back pain when I had this on.
When you take it off, just make sure to saturate it in baby oil first so it easily comes off and doesn’t hurt your skin.
Exercise Equiment
Yoga Ball – I love having a yoga ball, especially at the end of my pregnancy. It’s so comfortable to sit on and there’s lots of great “exercises” or movements you can do on it to get baby get into optimal birth position. I even used it after my babies were born to sit on and bounce them.
